Steamboat Springs Festivals

While activities are always are always occurring in Steamboat, many weekends throughout the summer, fall and winter have special themes. These weekends are a great time to not only visit the town, but also provide events to guide you through your stay.

OktoberWest – New in 2009, this festival combines Germany’s Oktoberfest with a Western feel. Featuring events such as a bucking bull riding and a keg roping competition, this event centralizes around rocky mountain brewed beer in frosty beer steins. So take a weekend and enjoy the waning summer atmosphere with one last horrah, and embrace the approaching fall in a unique German/Western way.

Balloon Rodeo + Art in the Park – Combined into one weekend, the Balloon Rodeo and Art in the park is weekend in the middle of the summer for the whole family. Waking up early on saturday morning, 40+ hot air balloons rise within minutes of each other, dotting the sky with colorful and creatively designed balloons. Later that afternoon and continuing on Sunday, Art in the Park takes place on the western edge of downtown. With live music, diverse food and, of course, many different types of art, you can easily spend a weekend fully enjoying both events.

Wine Festival – A multi-day event in August, the Steamboat Springs Wine festival is a great event for wine enthusiasts and amatures alike. With events starting as early as 7:30 am and continuing through 11:00 pm, you can enjoy wine throughout the day in different settings. The events take place across town as you enjoy fly-fishing the Yampa River in the morning, enjoy tasting on the mountain as you watch the sun set over the Valley, and finnish off your evening touring the restaurants downtown. And thats just day one! Enjoy this festival with your family and friends or come to Steamboat and enjoy wine and meet some of Steamboats friendly locals!

Mustang Roundup – For owners, car enthusiasts or those just interested in looking around, the Mustang Roundup is the weekend for you to stop through Steamboat. With more than 400 Mustangs in town, the events are all crowded. With two main events, the ’shine and show’ and a timed circuit, you are able to see not only the cars polished in lined up, but also in action!
