This past weekend the skies parted in Steamboat and the weather warmed a bit, giving everyone a brief taste of spring skiing on Mt. Werner. We took the opportunity to get out early and enjoy the morning at the Steamboat Nordic Center before heading to the mountain. The warm morning proved to be great for skating, the fresh corduroy from early morning grooming made cruising around the Nordic Center fun and quick. Later in the after noon, we headed over to the mountain and enjoyed eating lunch on the outside deck at Rendezvous and after a few runs were ready to relax at Slopeside. Below is a picture taken at Slopeside on Saturday – a busy and fun atmosphere, everyone smiling and excited to be sitting around in short sleeve shirts working on their winter tans.
A fun break in the weather, but everyone is quite excited as well this morning; the snow is falling and there looks to be a powder day on the mountain in the works!
