I hope everyone had a fantastic holiday! Santa came a bit early this year and left the Steamboat residents and visitors with the gift we have all been asking for, SNOW! With 11 inches on Christmas Eve the gondola line was packed almost out to Gondola Joes early that morning. Along with new runs like, 2 o’clock and shadows being open, everyone was able to find those stashes of powder we have been dreaming about since the season ended last April.
Myself, having family in town for the holidays has made me once again appreciate the small nuances of Steamboat that can often be overlooked by someone living here year-round. Having family constantly oooing and ahhing at small things like the gorgeous view heading up Buff Pass or just the simple fact that everyone in town is so open and nice, i am happy to be a Steamboat resident. Plus having family around at the holidays is always fun, whether just hanging out at the end of a tough ski day or joking around at the difficulty some have at getting their ski boots on, everything is always more enjoyable. Hope your holidays were equally as relaxing and fun as mine and I’m hoping Santa decides to take his spring break in Steamboat as well, bringing back more of that fluffy powder
