Steamboat Springs, Colorado is known for the beautiful winter scenes, deep “Champagne Powder” snow, frozen lakes, snow-line roads and sleighs. However, it has never seemed to be as cold as it was this year. Almost from the beginning of the season, the temperature was in the low 20’s and for several weeks was below zero. Everyone give a big “brrrrrrrr!”

March is continuing the cold trend with temperatures in the low 30’s, but there is a hint of Spring in the air. Personally, I can’t wait. I love the changing seasons that are in the Rockies especially in Steamboat Springs, but when the tulips begin to peak through the ground, the birds start showing some life and I start itching to get outside, I know it is time for Spring.
