While the calendar says that we should be well into spring, the weather and conditions in Steamboat are making if feel as though it were the 2nd week of January. The snow has continued to fall and Steamboat currently has the deepest base of snow in history with one individual saying that the summit stake read 160 inches. The west summit of Rabbit Ears Pass is at 157 percent of average with 105 inches of standing snow. We decided to take yesterday off and get in one last morning of powder skiing before putting our ski gear away for the summer. The snow was as light as ever and we had a great time.
