Went for a mountain bike ride last night up Howelsen Hill to try out the new Quarry Mountain Trail. This trail is a great new single-track option that winds patiently up to the cell tower. With the shortening days and variable weather, many people have skipped from the days of summer to anticipating winter ski runs. Yet despite this, the trails were crowded. Many people were out taking advantage of the cool autumn temperatures and open trails before the winter moves in. Our ride finished with the waning moon illuminating the trails, providing enough light to finish cruising down the single-track and avoid an encounter with a porcupine ambling along the trail. What a way to wind-down after work!
