Kick-off Summer in Steamboat

by Sage Local on June 10, 2010

In my humble opinion, not many things trump Steamboat Springs, Colorado in the summer time. What I love most about mountain living is exemplified between the months of May and October.

With literally perfect weather; low humidity and mild temperatures, Steamboat Springs comes alive in the summer months with captivating original and diverse summer events (think the Rocky Mountain Mustang Roundup and the Steamboat All Arts Festival), an energetic, outdoorsy population and a laid-back mountain town mentality. Steamboat in the Summertime is often imitated, but never replicated. One of the many reasons that summers are perfect here is that the altitudes that allow low humidity, cool nights at 40-50 degrees, but are still low enough that you sleep well at night.

This past weekend (Sunday, June 6th) was the 29th Annual Steamboat Marathon, Half-Marathon and 10K, which to many is the kick-off to the summer season. More than 2,000 racers and their friends and family came to see the emerald green beauty of Steamboat Springs.

On behalf of our charming little mountain community, thank you for coming and we hope to see you again this summer. For those who haven’t been up to Steamboat Springs yet this summer…we will see you soon!
