The Winter Carnival kicked off on Wednesday with a celebration honoring the Winter Carnival Queen. Festivities continued yesterday with cross country obstacle races, snowboard jam sessions and mountain biking down snow covered Howelsen Hill. Events can get a bit competitive, but are designed mainly for the enjoyment of those involved and the long-lasting memories created.
Tonight’s schedule is packed full of equally entertaining events. With tubing going on right now, from 3-6, along with Nordic jumping at Howelsen Hill, there are tons of great activities to keep you excited about winter and enjoying the comradare of friends and family. Highlighting tonight’s activities is the Olympic Send-Off, complete with fireworks, big screen video, and the 17 Olympians themselves.
So if you are reading this, stop right now, get outside, and jump in on the activities around downtown Steamboat! I know that is what I’m about to do! All weekend is sure to be filled with fun activities and events, look forward to seeing you out there.
