The hypotheses about the winter snowfall have begun. This year is an El Nino year, further fueling the speculation as to how this will affect the snow-fall on the mountain. The good news for skier and boarders is that “the last El Niño year resulted in more than 400 inches of snow. That year, 2005-06, weather patterns dumped 432 inches of snow at the midway point on Mount Werner.” The Pilot also reports the recent change in weather as promising as well. “The 0.52 [in. of rain] this morning is the greatest 24-hour total since May 3.” What this winter will bring is anyone’s guess. We can only hope for the best!
