The warm temperatures and blue bird days in Steamboat are starting to make it feel like summer. While looking up toward Mt. Werner can get one lost in thoughts of continuing to make a few more turns on your skis, a quick glance in the other direction, toward Howelsen can quickly change the sport racing through your head. While the top still appears to be snowcapped, the bottom sections appear to be melting with an increasing ferocity. Rumor is that Mad Creek trail, just outside of town, along with the Spring Creek Ditch Loop, are approaching dry, hike-able conditions. While still a few weeks away from mountain biking, keep your ears open!
