Not only does Steamboat have world class skiing, epic biking and hiking trails and million dollar views, we also host an array of musical and theatrical performance, a wide variety of art galleries and some of the most exciting events for kids, adults and the whole family to enjoy! Throughout the summer, Steamboat entertains a Free Summer Concert Series, amazing performances hosted by Strings Music Festival as well as local artists playing at various bars and venues throughout town. Along with musical performances, Steamboat is also host to a wide variety of events and festival’s including two events this year, the All Arts Fest and October West Festival.

Today, Friday June 4th between 5-8pm Steamboat Springs is putting on a First Friday Artwalk. To foster appreciation of the visual arts in Steamboat and support the growth of the local arts community. Twenty four galleries and alternative art venues remain open for this self-guided tour and refreshments are served. Many offer changing exhibits, so there is something new to see each month.

Today, Friday June 4th between 6-9pm Yampatika is having a fundraising banquet which features a gourmet dinner of native wild edible plants and other local fare. A silent and live auction accompanies dinner. Proceeds support education programs for youth in Routt and Moffat Counties.

On Sunday, June 6th between 7:30am-1pm Don’t miss the 29th Annual Steamboat Marathon, Half Marathon and 10K – named one of the 10 Most Scenic Marathons and a Top 10 Destination Marathon in North America by Runner’s World. This is truly the most scenic run in the Rockies! Registration for the Full and Half Marathon is limited and fills quickly. They accept an unlimited number of 10K runners. Registration opened January 1st, 2010 – Sign up if you haven’t already! The Marathon course begins in Hahns Peak Village, runs south on CR 129 and finishes at the courthouse in downtown Steamboat Springs.
