We had a warm and windy weekend in Steamboat, summer-like conditions persisted all weekend. The weekend weather was sunny and warm, though high winds, but turned out to be a great weekend here in Steamboat. Steamboat was not under the advisory like most of Western Colorado, had a high wind advisory all weekend with gusty winds.
The Yampa Valley River had some high flows on the river over the weekend, no floods happened where the river overflowed, which is always a good thing.
Overnight temperatures early this week could dip to near freezing, Monday should reach to 58 or so, 66 on Tuesday and the low to Mid-70s Wednesday through Friday, according to early forecasts.
Despite the dry conditions of the past couple of days, all hiking and biking trails on the front side of Emerald Mountain remain closed. The Routt County Riders trail coordinator “Gretchen”, says there is plenty of good skiing available across the area, but the biking trails are simply too muddy to use.
The same trails that were open earlier in the week; Mad Creek, Hot Springs and portions of Spring Creek – are still the best options. “Refer to picture above”
